Morning Show Radio Producer
February 2007 – May 2008

Jonathan joined Matt St Peter and Chris Whitten on the “Cat Country Wake up Show with Matt and Chris” on 98.1 WCTK in Providence, RI. He handled all the normal morning show producer duties. Jonathan frequently did some on air work as “Producer Higgio”. During the morning show Jonathan would make appearances all over Southern New England with ticket giveaways. Jonathan even did some regular on air bits including the “Screen Test”. During the Screen Test bit Jonathan would typically act out a scene from a hit movie then the listeners would guess what the movie is.

One of Jonathan’s favorites on-air bits was reporting live about a Cat Hoarding problem in Pawtucket, RI. There was a rash of cat hoarding stories out of Pawtucket so the morning crew thought they would add some light humor on the subject.

Shortly after joining WCTK Jonathan also became the stations “webmaster”. He worked hand and hand with the promotion department, sales and programming staff. During that time he helped the station with upgrading it’s dated website.

On Air Talent / Show Radio Producer
October 2005 – March 2007

Jonathan started as board operator and producer for Music America with Ron Della Chiesa airing Sunday Night’s on Easy 99.1 WPLM. It wasn’t like today type of board oping babysitting the automation. Jonathan had to rackup the CD’s for each hour and cue up the mini disk player with Ron’s voice tracks. There was automation but it wasn’t set up for Ron’s shows at the time. Jonathan normally came in about hour to hour and half to set up and get ready for the nonstop five hour musical juggling act.

During Jonathan’s stint at WPLM a weekend overnight on air shift became available so Jonathan took on this new on-air opportunity. His work didn’t stop with Music America he produced new imaging for both of Ron’s shows Music America and Strictly Sinatra airing on Saturday nights. Jonathan produced special shows and interviews hosted by Ron. During his time at WPLM Jonathan learned a lot from radio veterans Ron Della Chiesa, Sean Casey and J.J. Austin.

Web Radio Station Owner/ On-Air Host
August 2011 – July 2014

After nearly 10 years of playing light rock it was time for a change so HBN Radio became “US 66 Radio” playing today’s country hits. Jonathan added some specialty programming on the weekends including a top 10 country countdown show hosted by Jonathan. This show would countdown the hottest country songs of the week with weekly features highlighting new upcoming country acts. The “Moonlight Lounge” was another program he hosted for a few years to be later hosted by Jonathan’s Dad Kenneth Higgins for many years after that. Moonlight Lounge showcased music from America’s songbook everything Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble.

Web Radio Station Owner/ On-Air Host
November 2001 – August 2011

Fresh out of the college Jonathan wanted to start his own webradio station called HBN Radio “Higgo Broadcast Network”. November 2001 the station went on the air playing light rock streaming on “Live 365” an online radio network. Jonathan programmed the most upbeat music during the daytime with “America’s at Work Network” then slowing things down with love songs at night with “America After Dark”. Jonathan had a blast programming and selecting music for all of the shows.
